Flower Arrangement: AN ART
Flowers play a significant role in a man’s life. They are used in many ways. May it be for personal use, for household adornment, for special occasions, for commercial use or just for display purposes. Arranging these flowers adds beauty to it. Flower arrangement is a form of art, and it always will. It requires ones talent and skill in arranging flowers in order for these flowers to become attractive to people who see them. It is not just merely arranging flowers. But, by how one achieves his aim of making the flowers more beautiful and pleasant to everyone’s eyes. And by how it gives a warm feeling of satisfaction and contentment to a person who sees it and uses it.
In flower arrangement, it is important to know and identify first the kind of flowers one is going to arrange and for what purpose it serves – may it be for graduation, for wedding decorations, for wedding bouquet or corsages, and the like. Next, one has to identify the materials needed for the flower arrangement. That includes the scissors, knife, floral foam, floral tape, thread or yarn as needed, water, and others. Lastly, one has to think of the design he wants to accomplish in order to achieve its purpose. His artistry is greatly needed for this and of course, his way of visualizing ideas.
No matter what kind of flower one chooses for the flower arrangement, you must always keep in mind that each flower has its own identity or has its own personality that you have to consider and determine. Like people, some flowers become more attractive if they are combined with other flowers. There are also some that can stand alone and look even more beautiful if not mixed with other flowers. Therefore, it is but important for a person to know the different kinds of flowers and its characteristics before learning how to arrange these flowers. Once these flowers have taught you about themselves, you may now relate to them in your own way by creating arrangements. You have to be artistic and at the same time realistic. Always consider the nature of the occasion or the purpose for your flower arrangement and retain the natural beauty of the flower. Do not overdo or over arrange the flowers. Since these flowers are also sensitive and do not last very long, one has to consider the time to finish the arrangement. You have to do it as fast as you can so as to retain the freshness of the flowers.
Whatever kind of flower arrangement one is going to make: may it be a corsage, bouquet, bow, floral pet poodle, flower foil basket or simply a house decor, a person must be inspired of doing the flower arrangement. He has to be serious with what he is doing, and he must love his work. He has to be confident with his output and be determined to do it. Most of all, he has to be artistic. For without these qualities, flower arrangement would be a very hard thing to do.
